Karate
Originally, Karate is a martial art started on the Ryukyu Islands, now Okinawa, Japan. Karate is also known as the empty hand of self-defense. With the completion of World War II, many American soldiers started learning Karate when they were stationed in Okinawa. “Karate” training is often done in large numbers and is a very useful form of self-defense. This particular form of martial arts uses a healthy mix of punches, kicks, elbows and knees to defeat an assailant or opponent.
